FAQ
Q1: What is the difference between Button Top and Flat Top?
A: Flat Top has a flat positive terminal, compatible with most modern devices (flashlights, DIY packs, headlamps). Button Top has a raised positive terminal (like a standard AA battery), required for older devices and certain battery holders with spring-loaded contacts. Please select your desired version when placing your order.
Q2: What is the capacity of this battery?
A: This battery has a 3400mAh capacity (minimum 3300mAh), offering significantly more runtime than standard 2200mAh batteries. This makes it ideal for devices that need to run for extended periods without recharging.
Q3: What does 6.8A mean?
A: 6.8A refers to the maximum continuous discharge current of this battery. This means it can safely deliver up to 6.8 amps of power continuously. This makes it suitable for medium-drain devices like bright flashlights and video doorbells, but not recommended for high-power applications like vaping or heavy power tools.
Q4: Is this battery suitable for my video doorbell?
A: Yes. This battery is an excellent choice for video doorbells that require 18650 cells. Its 3400mAh capacity provides long runtime, and its 6.8A discharge rate is sufficient for most video doorbell power requirements. Please check your specific doorbell model's battery specifications before purchase.
Q5: Is this battery protected or unprotected?
A: This is an unprotected cell. It relies on your device's built-in BMS (Battery Management System) or protection circuit to handle overcharge, over-discharge, and short-circuit protection. This provides maximum flexibility for use in devices with built-in protection.
Q6: How many times can this battery be recharged?
A: This battery can be recharged approximately 1000+ times, depending on usage and charging habits. Proper care (using a quality charger, avoiding full discharge, and storing at moderate temperatures) will extend its lifespan.
Q7: What charger should I use?
A: Use a dedicated intelligent Li-Ion charger designed for 3.7V/4.2V cells. Do not use universal chargers designed for NiMH batteries. Look for chargers with overcharge protection and temperature monitoring features.
Q8: How do I identify positive and negative terminals?
A: The flat top (or the raised button on button top version) is the Positive (+) terminal. The bottom (the side with the shiny metal casing and a slight indentation) is the Negative (-) terminal.
Q9: How should I store this battery when not in use?
A: Store at a partial charge (around 40-60% capacity) in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Do not store fully charged or fully depleted for extended periods.
