Applications
Recommended For:
FPV Drones & Long-Range UAVs: 120A+ pulse handles aggressive punch-outs and acrobatics. 5000mAh capacity dramatically extends flight time beyond standard LiPo packs.
Heavy-Duty Cordless Power Tools: Angle grinders, circular saws, rotary hammers, and chain saws operate at full torque without voltage sag or thermal throttling.
High-Performance E-Scooters & E-Bikes: Build compact, high-power battery packs (e.g., 10S1P or 12S1P) with fewer parallel cells needed. Always use a quality BMS.
Competition-Level Vaping: Super-sub-ohm mechanical mods and high-wattage regulated devices (builds down to ~0.05Ω) benefit from near-zero voltage drop and immense pulse headroom.
Extreme-Output Flashlights: FET-driven multi-emitter searchlights and hot-rod torches sustain turbo modes at 40-60A with constant brightness and long runtime.
RC Racing Cars & Boats: Instantaneous 100A+ bursts provide explosive starts and corner exits.
Portable Spot Welders & High-Power DIY Projects: Multi-cell configurations deliver massive short-circuit currents for the most demanding applications.
Not Recommended For:
Low-Power Long-Runtime Devices: Solar lights, wireless sensors, and doorbells. The 50XG is severe overkill; use a Samsung 50G (5000mAh 10A) for better economy.
18650-Only Devices: This is a 21700 cell (21mm x 70mm) and will not physically fit.
Standard USB Power Banks: The extreme performance is completely wasted in low-current applications.
FAQ
Q1: What is the true continuous discharge rating — 75A or should I design for less?
A: The Tenpower 50XG is officially rated for 75A continuous discharge. However, many professional pack builders design to a 60A continuous ceiling to maximize cycle life and keep cell temperatures well within safe limits. For short, intense bursts, the cell can handle up to 120A+. If you intend to run at 75A continuously, ensure excellent active cooling.
Q2: Can I use this battery for my FPV drone? How does it compare to LiPo?
A: Absolutely. While a LiPo can deliver extreme bursts, a 4S 50XG pack provides far greater energy density (5000mAh vs. ~1500mAh for a similar-weight LiPo), giving you dramatically longer flight times. The 75A continuous and 120A+ pulse ensure you still get explosive throttle response.
Q3: Is this battery suitable for vaping? What resistance is safe?
A: Yes, it is a top-tier choice for extreme sub-ohm vaping. With 75A continuous and 120A+ pulse at 3.6V nominal, it can safely power builds down to approximately 0.05Ω. Always calculate your exact current using Ohm's law, and never exceed the pulse rating for more than a few seconds.
Q4: What is tabless technology and why does it matter?
A: A tabless cell eliminates the thin metal tabs that connect the electrode layers inside the battery. Instead, the entire edge of the electrode connects directly to the terminal. This dramatically lowers internal resistance (~5mΩ), reduces heat, and allows for much higher currents with less voltage sag — essential for FPV, power tools, and high-drain applications.
Q5: Do I need a special charger for tabless cells?
A: No special charger is required. The 50XG charges like any standard 21700 Li-ion cell. Use a quality CC-CV charger. Charging at 0.5C (2.5A) is recommended for longevity, though the cell can accept up to 5A.
Q6: Which terminal type should I choose?
A: Choose Flat Top for standard spring-contact devices and spot-welding battery packs. Choose Button Top for devices with recessed battery compartments. Choose Nickel Tab or Pre-wired for custom high-current battery pack assembly.
Q7: How many batteries come in one pack?
A: This product is available in 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 pack options. Please select your desired quantity from the dropdown menu before adding to cart.
